Ingredients:

  • 1 packet of dumpling wrappers

  • 250g ground pork or chicken

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped cabbage

  • 2-3 spring onions, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger

  • 1 teaspoon chilli flakes (adjust to taste)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Water for sealing dumplings

  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork or chicken, chopped cabbage, spring onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ginger, chilli flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper.

  3. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold and seal the dumplings, ensuring there are no air pockets.

  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  5. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the dumplings to the skillet in a single layer, ensuring they don't touch each other.

  6. Cook the dumplings for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.

  7. Carefully pour water into the skillet until it reaches about halfway up the dumplings.

  8. Cover the skillet with a lid and let the dumplings steam for 6-8 minutes, or until the filling is cooked through.

  9. Remove the lid and let any excess water evaporate.

  10. Transfer the dumplings to a serving plate and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
