Spicy Biltong and Red Onion Pizza Recipe

Indulge in the bold flavors of South Africa with this Spicy Biltong and Red Onion Pizza. The homemade crust provides the perfect base for the fiery biltong, complemented by the sweetness of red onion and the richness of melted mozzarella cheese. Ingredients:
300g all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp instant yeast
200ml warm water
150g spicy biltong, thinly sliced
1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
200g mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/4 cup tomato sauce
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Olive oil, for drizzling
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar. Make a well in the center and add olive oil and yeast. Gradually pour in warm water while mixing until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). Punch down the dough and roll it out into a circle on a floured surface.
Transfer the dough to a pizza pan or baking sheet. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Arrange sliced biltong and red onion on top. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the toppings.
Season with dried oregano and crushed red pepper flakes.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and drizzle with olive oil.
