Ingredients:
500 g all-purpose flour
325 ml warm water (around 40°C)
7 g active dry yeast
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
First Rise: Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 250°C. If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it heats up.
Prepare the Toppings: While the dough is rising, prepare the toppings:
150 g feta cheese, crumbled
A handful of fresh basil leaves
200 g cherry tomatoes, halved
Shape the Dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Divide it into two equal portions for two medium pizzas or use the entire dough for one large pizza. Roll out the dough to your desired thickness.
Add the Toppings: Place the rolled-out dough on a baking sheet or a pizza peel if using a pizza stone. Sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese evenly over the dough. Add the cherry tomatoes and scatter the basil leaves on top.
Bake the Pizza: Transfer the pizza to the oven. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is slightly melted.
Serve: Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve.
Enjoy your homemade pizza with feta, basil, and cherry tomatoes!
