Ingredients:
For the Deep-Fried Fish:
500g white fish fillets, cut into strips
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup cold water
Vegetable oil for frying
For the Creamy Peri Peri Sauce:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons premade peri peri sauce
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the Batter:
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
Gradually add cold water while whisking to create a smooth batter
Deep-Fry the Fish:
Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large, deep pan to 180°C (350°F).
Dip each fish strip into the batter, ensuring an even coating.
Carefully place the battered fish into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy (about 3-4 minutes per side).
Remove the fried fish and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
Prepare the Creamy Peri Peri Sauce:
