Ingredients:

For Crumbed Chicken Strips:

  • 500g chicken breast, cut into strips

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Vegetable oil for frying

For Homemade Fries:

  • 4 large potatoes, washed and peeled

  • Vegetable oil for frying

  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken Strips:

  • Preheat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 190°C.

  • In three separate bowls, place the flour seasoned with salt and pepper, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  • Dredge each chicken strip in the flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumbs mixture, ensuring each strip is evenly coated.

  • Carefully place the coated chicken strips into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  1. Make the Homemade Fries:

  • Cut the peeled potatoes into thin strips or wedges.

  • Rinse the potato strips under cold water to remove excess starch, then pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.

  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches, frying until they are golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per batch.

  • Remove the fries from the oil using a slotted spoon and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Season with salt while still hot.

  1. Serve and Enjoy:

  • Arrange the crispy chicken strips and homemade fries on a serving platter.

  • Serve the Jissie Sussie Sweet Chili Sauce on the side for dipping.

  • Enjoy your delicious homemade meal!
