In South Africa, the braai is a way of life. In our house, not a week goes by that we don't cook our meat outside over a fire at least once. With the meat, there always needs to be a delicious side and these mushrooms never disappoints!
We start with a pack of nice BIG mushrooms.
We make a mixture of butter and garlic and spread a nice think layer on top of the mushrooms. Top with cheese and your choice of spices. We usually only add salt and pepper.
Wrap the parcels in a nice foil boat to keep all the juices inside. The most important ingredient of course, are the Soetseun Sweeties (Jalapeno Slices). Add a generous amount on top.
It's always a good idea to add more cheese. :-)
Cook the mushrooms either in the oven or on the fire. Slow and easy till the cheese is nicely melted.
